The pendant lights are designed using fire-retardant gauze fabric. The forms are taken from existing classical lights as well as seminal modern forms; by reconstructing them in stitched fabric they create a reinterpretation of these recognisable forms,

made using techniques associated with fashion and deconstructing the undergarment. The lights are named after three of Hitchcock’s female characters. The artfulness of the lights, apart from their translucency is that they can be flat packed.

The collaboration with Historic Lighting comes from an appreciation of simple honest design that does not shout. The shades are fitted with corsetry stiffening, sewn by Working Well, a Women’s Sewing Project in London’s East End, and lit with edna “plum”, edna “tube” and edna “globe” lamps and twisted black cable. The standard shapes of the lights come in two sizes:

Large w 880 mm x h 680-mm/ Medium w 500 mm x h 400 mm.
